Efficient resource allocation is a fundamental problem faced by organizations, governments, and industries operating under constraints such as limited capital, labor, time, and materials. Linear Programming (LP) is one of the most widely used optimization techniques for addressing such problems due to its mathematical rigor, computational efficiency, and practical applicability. This paper presents a comprehensive study of optimization models for efficient resource allocation using linear programming techniques. It explains the theoretical foundations of LP, formulation of resource allocation models, solution methods, and selected application areas including production planning, transportation, agriculture, and public sector decision-making. The study highlights how LP-based models enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support rational decision-making, while also discussing limitations and scope for future extensions. |
